A pleasant surprise which reminds me of the "Afro-Bets" book series, which I loved reading as a child. This book introduces children to the variety of HBCUs in the United States from A to Z; including trivia about each one and elements of HBCU culture. This is a great opportunity for HBCU alums to talk about their alma maters with the children in their lives, diversify their alphabet book collection and spark their interest in a core part of Black American history. The bright, clear designs of the illustrations reflect a variety of Black skin tones and hairstyles that allow young readers to see themselves and imagine their own futures. Highly recommended.
This is great content and I recommend to all! Very great for all ages in my personal opinion.
Excellent content!
I am having my 5 year old grandson read to his 3 year old brother. They will be reading it over the years to gain knowledge and interest! The 5 year old already noted his mom and dad's sorority and fraternity! His dad's undergrad University! He surprised me by recognizing Grambling State for College Football!!
